In this paper we exploit the polarization diversity to mitigate the interference in an overlay spectrum sharing scheme. Using the polarization of the signal is not new in wireless communication but only a few papers have addressed the issue [5–9]. Here we introduce two schemes using the polarization diversity to mitigate the interference in an overlay cognitive radio.
